Message from our Mayor - Cllr Matthew Parker

Verwood Town Council stand with and support the people of Ukraine.

We send our hopes and prayers to the people of Ukraine at this terrible time and trust that justice will prevail, however long it may take. We condemn the actions of President Putin and Russia in this unprovoked atrocity.

As with any event of this nature, it is the civilians who will suffer as a result and we would encourage anyone who can to contribute towards the Disaster Relief in support of the citizens of Ukraine. Many people are already doing incredible things in support.  Residents can donate to Help from Bournemouth to Ukraine - humanitarian aid, at the Council Offices Monday - Friday 9am - 1pm.

As to the British Government, along with many others in the country, we urge you to take all appropriate action possible to both support Ukraine, including those seeking refuge in the UK, as well as imposing sanctions upon Russia for their actions.
