I was born and brought up in London where I went to school and then university.  From 1972, when I moved to Dorset, until 2005, when I took early retirement, I worked as a Software Engineer for BAE Systems at Christchurch (formerly Plessey, then Siemens).
I have lived in Three Legged Cross since 1974.
I have been a member of Verwood Town Council, representing Three Legged Cross, since 2000 and have sat on all the main committees.  I served as Town Mayor in 2006 and Deputy Mayor in 2017.
I am a member of the 3LX Community Fund Committee and Three Legged Cross Forum.  I was a governor of Three Legged Cross First School for a number of years and a founder, treasurer and helper at Three Legged Cross voluntary Youth Club.
My main interests now are walking and gardening, although I have previously been a keen cruiser sailor and motor cyclist.  My Register of Interests can be found here Councillor Jane Russell, Verwood Town Council - Dorset Council
