Community Consultation – Allotments
Some residents have expressed a wish for more allotments in Verwood. The Council had identified a possible site in the ownership of Dorset Council, which we could have applied to have transferred to us.
The estimated one-off cost for the Town Council to create a few parking bays, provide a water supply, and install fencing would have been in the region of £40,000 – £45,000. Following that, the yearly maintenance of the site was expected to be about £2,000 per annum.
The potential site was located under the electricity lines at Black Moor Road.

The Town Council would like to thank everyone who responded to the consultation.
Councillors have taken note of the number of people expressing an interest in renting an allotment but have also concluded that the land at Ebblake is not a suitable site. The Council will continue to look for an alternative allotment site.
