Financial Information

As your local government body, Verwood Town Council is unwavering in its commitment to offering transparent and accessible information about its finances.

The Council firmly believes that transparency is the cornerstone of maintaining public trust and accountability. It is dedicated to managing its financial operations openly and responsibly, ensuring your confidence in our actions.

Our commitment to transparency extends to making financial information easily accessible. We believe this will not only foster understanding but also encourage your active participation in the democratic process, ensuring your voice is heard and valued.

Below, you will find historical financial documents and resources, including the Council’s annual accounts, financial statements, revenues and expenditures, and the 2024/25 Youth and Community Centre hire fees and costs for Verwood Cemetery.

Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR)

As part of the Council’s commitment to transparency and accountability, we appoint an internal auditor to review and verify our financial accounts and statements annually.

Additionally, the Council must complete an Annual Governance & Accountability Return (AGAR) containing the internal auditor’s findings, governance statements, and financial statements. Upon completion, the Council submits the AGAR to an independent external auditor.

This auditor, designated by the Audit Commission, plays a crucial role in our financial reporting process. They meticulously review our financial statements and the internal auditor’s findings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
