Verwood Memorial Recreation Ground

Verwood Recreation Ground Trust

(Charity No. 1055101)

Verwood Recreation Ground is a memorial to those who fell in the Great War 1914-1918. It was purchased by public subscription in 1920 as an open space for public recreation. People generally accept that the trees around the perimeter represent residents who died.

The Town Council is the sole trustee of Verwood Recreation Ground. The Trust meets three times a year, in January, May, and September, and all meetings are held in the Town Council Offices.

Any correspondence should be addressed to ‘The Chairman, Verwood Recreation Ground Trust’ and sent to the Town Council Offices.

The maintenance of the play area and the Recreation Ground is the responsibility of the Town Council.
